...do you mind answering a couple of questions? I'm gauging the skill level of people/observers who stumble across this site. What is it you are looking for when you click a link for AstronomyLog.com? I've prepared some very simple survey questions and polls.

1) Website isn't remembering my password - have to reset everytime?
2) couldn't change my username first go-round - you assigned it my email address, which included my real last name - an internet 'no-no'.
...so I created a new email address with an acceptably non-identity-theft user name.

Locale settings aren't "sticking" either.
Changes to Locale Settings aren't saving.
I'll come back in a month to see if you've ironed out these BASIC problems with your website.
Fact is that it would be foolish to invest time into putting anything into this website only to see it go away due to the kind of mismanagement indicative of the basic errors I've encountered already.
So let's review:
1) Passwords not sticking. Have to reset every time I login.
2) public username based upon email address name, and user can't change the username. - I wouldn't recommend using your real name on a public website like this, so that if your real name is part of your email (which is common) the website risks the users identity.
3) Canceled account remains in system. Because I want to use my gmail address, but made the mistake of using it first (see #2) - I canceled that first account, website said it was deleted, but then created a dummy email with an acceptable username, and then tried to switch new, acceptable account with gmail address only to find it wouldn't work because it was still in your system?
4) Locale settings aren't sticking.
These are basic website programming / design / policy errors. Please accept this as constructive criticism with the hope that you will be maintaining this website to the point of making it useful.
